Many workers have hobbies that they pursue in their off-hours, but if their side passions are at odds with their day job, they can find themselves in big trouble. Case in point: Emmanuel Polanco, a Bronx junior high school principal who appears in videos as a rapper called “El Siki.”
Polanco, 30, earns $127,115 a year as principal of Junior High School 80. But at some point, he was pursuing a career as a rapper named “El Siki” and appeared in videos in which he made sexy moves, ordered champagne and cavorted with busty blonde babes. When word spread through the school of his Internet videos, parents were upset.
In the Spanish-language music video for a song called “El Metele,” Polanco is shown drinking and cavorting with a young woman in bed. “Come here, press against me. I’m giving up control, you go crazy,” he raps in Spanish. The video is no longer accessible on YouTube.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education told the newspaper that the agency “takes parents’ concerns seriously” and is investigating.
