A fugitive wanted on murder charges has been captured in Rhode Island.

Authorities arrested Juan Mejia, 28, of Bronx, NY on Tuesday night in Bristol, RI. Mejia had been hiding out in an apartment on State Street.

According to U.S. Marshals, Mejia is accused of stabbing a person to death during a home invasion in New York City back in May. The victims were reportedly bound and gagged while Mejia and three accomplices ransacked the apartment.

He is facing several charges including murder, home invasion, and gun possession. Mejia was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court and has reportedly waived extradition.
