Bronx Health Disparities Conference

On July 10, 2009, The Bronx Center to Reduce & Eliminate Ethnic & Racial Health Disparities (Bronx CREED) of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine will host a free day-long conference at Fordham University entitled “Building Healthy Neighborhoods: Working Together to Achieve Health Equity in the Bronx.”

This day-long conference is designed to bring together community members, community and faith-based leaders, academic professionals, public health practitioners, clinicians, students, educators, and policy makers to discuss and promote successful strategies for overcoming health inequities. All are welcome!

 

Workshop Topics Include:

o Live Well, Live Long: Promoting Healthy Life Choices
o Partnership in Action: Improving the Physical and Social Environments
o Addressing the Social and Economic Determinants of Health: The Burden of Poverty, Housing, and Hunger
o Community Health: Promoting Policy, Systems, and Environmental Changes in Your Neighborhoods
o Achieving Health Care Reform: The Impact of Race, Culture, Ethnicity

The event will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 8:00am – 4:30pm. The address is Fordham University Keating Hall, 441 E. Fordham Road, Bronx, NY. Entry to the event is free and includes continental breakfast and bunch Included. Parking is available ($10 for the day).
