On Thursday, March 21, 2019 Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted his annual Women’s History Month celebration at Fordham University.
This year’s program included a panel discussion on the past, present and future of women in society.
The panel will was moderated by ABC News Senior Legal Correspondent and Co-Host of The View, Sunny Hostin. The featured panelists were Deputy Bronx Borough President Marricka Scott-McFadden, New York State Senator Alessandra Biaggi, New York State Assembly Member Nathalia Fernandez and New York State Assembly Member Karines Reyes.
“It’s baffling to think women are still fighting for equality, but thankfully there are many successful and influential women in the Bronx pushing for the advancement of women’s rights,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. “The women honored here have stayed their course to accomplish their dreams and are champions and role models to our young girls of today. I thank them for participating in our panel and for the daily work that they do in making our communities a better place.”
