Annual Purerto Rican Culture & Heritage Celebration

On Wednesday, November 20, 2019, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. hosted his annual Purerto Rican Culture & heritage Celebration at the Shanghai Red restaurant in Westchester Square.

This year honorees include María Román Dumén – co-founder, former president, and current honorary member of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade; Dr. Jose Rodriguez, M.D.; and Shawn “Pecas” Costner – Women’s Football League Association (WFLA) President and former Former Roc Nation executive vice president. The event was emceed by New York Mets content creator & the first Latina public address announcer in Major League Baseball history Marysol Castro.

“I am always proud to come together with my fellow Boricua to celebrate the culture and community that makes us proud to be Puerto Rican,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. “This event always provides us with a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our Puerto Rican heritage and share that experience with individuals from all walks of life.”
