On Thursday, April 16, 2026, at approximately 2225 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call for an assault at 205 Alexander Avenue, within the confines of the 40th Precinct / PSA 7 in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 78-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the torso.
EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where he was pronounced deceased.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
