A 21-year-old Nanuet woman charged with stabbing her boyfriend in the stomach with a knife during a fight at the Days Inn hotel on Route 59 was in police custody Thursday at the county jail.
The boyfriend, a 21-year-old Bronx resident, was recovering at Nyack Hospital following surgery, Clarkstown police said Thursday. His injury was considered serious but not life-threatening, police said.
The girlfriend, Ciera Norfleet of 64 Second Avenue, was charged with first-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, after allegedly stabbing the man during a fight at about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday.
It was not clear why the two were fighting.
A friend had broken up a dispute between the two earlier that same evening in Spring Valley, police said.
The boyfriend went to stay with a friend at the Days Inn at 367 W. Route 59. Norfleet later showed up at the hotel with a knife and stabbed him, police said.
Norfleet was arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court Thursday and taken to the county jail, where she was held on $25,000 bail.
