On Friday, April 10, 2020, at approximately 1946 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a person shot in front of 1966 1st Avenue, within the confines of the 23rd Precinct in Manhattan.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 23-year-old Black male victim at the location with a gunshot wound to the lower back.
The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Metropolitan, where he was pronounced deceased.
A 30-year-old male was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 30-year-old Black male individual has been arrested and charged for the below listed homicide.

230 E. 123 Street
Manhattan, NY 10034
Charges:
- murder;
- assault;
- criminal use of a firearm;
- criminal possession of weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
