On Wednesday, July 28th, Highbridge Community Life Center (HCLC) will provide its last summer community meal. The offering is a part of a month-long effort to provide free weekly meals to homeless and disadvantaged residents of Highbridge and surrounding neighborhoods.

Highbridge Community Life Center is a leader in providing free, quality education and family services to the community. The program has drawn unprecedented crowds of up to 200 residents per meal.

“We have heard wonderful feedback about this effort, and we are so glad that we were able to reach out in this way,” said Sister Ellenrita Purcaro, the Executive Director of the agency. “I wish we could do more.”

The meals are held in the cafeteria of Sacred Heart School, at 1248 Nelson Avenue in the Bronx. On Wednesday, HCLC bags will be given out to everyone who attends the meal. They will be filled with gifts and items donated by the Marriott Hotel.
