On Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at approximately 2222 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a residential fire inside of 3540 Rochambeau Avenue, apartment #2G, within the confines of the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival and extinguishment of the fire by FDNY personnel, officers observed a 76-year-old aided male, unconscious and unresponsive, with severe fire exposure.
On-scene EMS pronounced the aided male deceased at the scene.
The cause of the fire is to be determined by the NYC Fire Marshal.
The Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.
