On Monday, June 01, 2020, at approximately 0323 hours, police officers responded to a burglary in progress at 14 W. 8th Street (“I Fix Screens” cell phone store) within the confines of 6th Precinct in Manhattan.
It was determined that a group of unidentified males had exited two vehicles at the location and broke the store front window of the location.
The individuals removed an undetermined amount of property and attempted to flee when police officers arrived and attempted to block the two vehicles from leaving. One police officer exited a police vehicle to attempt to stop the unidentified males when he was struck by a late model Ford Explorer with temporary Wisconsin plates. That vehicle, along with a late model Honda Accord with New Jersey plates both fled the scene eastbound on 8th street.
The police officer was removed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation the following 24-year-old male individual was arrested on June 30, 2020, at 1015 hours.
