The operator of Le Point Value Thrift, a chain of thrift shop clothing stores in Brooklyn and the Bronx, has closed on the $7.2 million purchase of a block-front commercial property and an adjacent two-family house in the Wakefield section of Bronx.
The three properties, comprising 24,661 square feet, are at 4250-4280 White Plains Road, a one-story commercial building, and the fully occupied two-story residential 712 East 236th Street.
Le Point Value Thrift will be opening a thrift shop in 6,000 square feet of newly constructed space at 4250-4280 White Plains Road likely this weekend, said Ariel Property Advisors‘ Scot Hirschfield who along with colleagues Victor Sozio, Jason Gold and Shimon Shkury represented the seller, Windward Real Estate, and procured the buyer.
There is 2,190 square feet available for lease at 4250-4280 White Plains Road, which spans East 235th to East 236th Streets. A fire tore through the building in 2009 and as a result, half of the 19,000 square feet of rentable retail space has been newly constructed. In addition, there is more than 3,000 square feet of office space, a 15,000-square-foot basement and six parking spaces. Tenants include Avon, Baby Power Forever Kids and Victory Martial Arts.
“The seller owned the property for several years and in this situation felt it was time to move on from the property,” Mr. Hirschfield said.
