On Thursday, June 10, 2021, at approximately 0612 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision, involving a motorcyclist on the southbound Major Deegan Expressway in the vicinity of exits 48 and 47, within the confines of the 41st Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, responding officers discovered an unconscious and unresponsive adult male with severe body trauma.
EMS responded to the location and pronounced the male deceased on the scene.
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that 36-year-old male, operating a late model Ducati motorcycle, was traveling south bound on the Major Deegan Expressway, between exits 48 and 47, at an apparent high rate of speed, when the motorcyclists failed to properly navigate the roadway, was ejected from the vehicle and struck a light pole at the location before coming to a rest on the roadway.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
