On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at approximately 1300 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a harassment at the corner of 1st Avenue and E. 57th Street, within the confines of the 17th Precinct in Manhattan.
Details are as follows.
Upon arrival, a 25-year-old female victim informed police that she was walking southbound on 1st Avenue, when an unknown individual approached her, made anti-Asian statements towards her, and attempted to strike her with a closed fist before fleeing on foot, northbound on 1st Avenue.
There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force has been notified.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation the suspect was identified as follows.

Charges:
- hate crime;
- aggravated harassment.
