Your Health Is Your Wealth

On September 18, 2011, the Morris Park Seventh Day Adventist Church will host its annual community health Fair at the Morris Park section of Bronx.

The Morris Park Seventh Day Adventist Church continues in line with the recent health initiatives in Bronx. It has been reported that Bronx County is one of the most affected by unhealthy living and unhealthy eating habits. Therefore, through its Health Ministries, the Morris Park Church has been making efforts to provide the members of the church and the community with information on health information and health resources so they can incorporate a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent illness. Wholeness and health have been an emphasis of the Seventh-day Adventist church throughout the world since the 1860’s. Since then, the health of the community has been the church’s vital focus.

The health fair will take place at 800 Morris Park, (between Matthews and Barnes Avenues) from 10:00am to 3:00 p.m. With the theme “Your Health is Your Wealth”, the Morris Park SDA Church is striving to promote health awareness and healthy living in the congregation and the Morris Park Community at large. This event will feature the participation of health care vendors providing dental and vision information, health screenings, smoking cessation information, low cost insurance information, general health information, massage therapy, and much more. Other activities will include fun exercise workouts, and fun activities for kids. We will also be providing healthy food samples and snacks, and recipes.

If you are a health care provider near the Morris Park area and are interested in participating in our event please contact us as soon as possible. The tables are free. However, we are accepting voluntary donations. These donations will allow us to continue offering these health events to the community. Let the community know that you are here and care for them.

Last year’s event was very successful. This year, it promises to be just as informative and fun. So we invite everyone to come and check it out.
