Woman Suffers Severe Burns In Sherman Avenue Fire

A 65-year-old woman suffered severe burns in an early morning fire on Sherman Avenue.

Fire officials say the flames broke out around 03:00 a.m. on the 4th floor of 1056 Sherman Avenue.

The woman was rescued from the apartment by two strangers, but still suffered burns to her body and face. Her husband says she was in bad shape at Harlem Hospital.

We are told that the two men who rescued the 65-year-old woman also warned others to escape the building. One of those people was a pregnant woman.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
