A water main break stopped traffic on Bruckner Boulevard ahead of the Thursday evening rush.
Authorities were redirecting eastbound traffic between Leggett and Longwood avenues as crews worked to repair the break.
The city Department of Environmental Protection and Con Edison arrived to assess the damage.
Water was cut off to stop the leak, but authorities said the break was not affecting service for customers in the area.
Authorities said the up-and-down temperatures may have led to the break.
