A 36-inch water main broke near 1921 Jerome Avenue in the Bronx at approximately 6:30 am Wednesday.
DEP crews responded at approximately 9:30 am shut off the main.
There are no indications of water disruption in the area. Crews are excavating the street to repair the main. The cast iron main was installed in 1903. The cause of the break is under investigation. FDNY and DEP are assessing damage to properties.
