Unique People Services’ 10th Annual Health Fair & Back To School Backpack Giveaway

On Thursday, August 22, 2019, Unique People Services (UPS) will hold its 10th Annual Health Fair and this year in collaboration with the Honorable Senator Gustavo Rivera, the local nonprofit will giveaway backpacks to Bronx area school age children. In addition, Community Awards will be presented to Boston Road Pharmacy and the NYPD – 48th Precinct for their dedication in supporting the efforts to create a safer and healthier Bronx.

The event in its tenth year is generously sponsored by Ponce Bank with additional support provided by HealthFirst, Boston Road Pharmacy, and ACE Office Products. The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Bronx Neighborhood Health Action Center will also join Unique People Services to spread the word about the Bronx’s Healthy Beverage Zone. Boom Health, Saint Barnabas Hospital, and representatives from a variety of organizations will be on site distributing brochures and community information, along with a host of vendors that will provide a day of fun activities, face painting, and entertainment.

During the day attendees will be provided free mobile health services, including HIV, diabetes and blood pressure screenings, mammograms and dental services, as well as mental health, domestic violence and substance resources and referral services.

The event will take place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 04:00 p.m.
