All Post Offices throughout the five boroughs will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2011, in observance of the 4th of July federal holiday. There will be no regular mail delivery. Only Express Mail will be delivered on July 4. All Post Offices will re-open with regular mail delivery and collections resuming on Tuesday, July 5. Check your local office for closing hours on Saturday, July 2, as some locations may close early.

Using credit and debit cards, the APC enables customers to:
·    Buy self-adhesive stamps.
·    Weigh, calculate and purchase postage in amounts for items weighing up to 70 pounds.
·    Send items via Express, Priority, and First-Class Mail, as well as by Parcel Post.
·    Purchase insurance up to $500.
·    Look up ZIP Codes and obtain Postal Service mailing information.
·    Obtain Certified Mail, Delivery Confirmation and Return Receipts.
·    Obtain a receipt.
Keep in mind that there are also 70,000 non-postal locations to purchase postal products and services nationwide. Addresses for these grocery stores, drug stores and retailers can be found here; check to see if they are open during the holiday.
