For the first time ever, two Bronx businesses are participating in NYC Restaurant Week.
Artie‘s Steak & Seafood on City Island and Hudson Garden Grill at the New York Botanical Garden are two of more than 375 restaurants participating in the semiannual promotion.
Each restaurant is offering three-course lunches for $29 and dinners for $42. Beverages are not included.
Artie‘s Steak & Seafood is a classic surf ‘n’ turf spot. It has been serving up traditional Italian-accented seafood for nearly half a century. A peek at the menu reveals a boatload of seafood classics like scallops, Alaskan king crab legs, a fried fisherman’s platter and fried Little Neck clams, as well as a variety of steaks (filet mignon, sirloin, rib eye) and pasta dishes. Hudson Garden Grill is located in the New York Botanical Garden’s Ross Conifer Arboretum, with an interior crafted from oak trees felled there by Hurricane Sandy. Spacious, airy, tastefully—and modestly—decorated, the lunch and dinner menus feature farm-to-table New American plates crafted by restaurateur Stephen Starr. The surprisingly expansive selection features plenty of greens amidst the meat, poultry and seafood, all served in simple yet elegant dishes, though an “In ‘N Out” style burger seems to be a popular item. A selection of classic cocktails is available as well. Though open to the public, it closes at the same time as the gardens, at 6:00 p.m. The restaurant’s menu is attached to the right of this article.
