You should know that this Thursday night, June 20, 2019 at 06:30 p.m. in The Bronx Zoo, the Bronx Jewish Community Council will be conducting its Annual Gala honoring selected individuals for their service.

Every year, the Bronx Jewish Community Council, under the direction of Rabbi Izzy Greenberg and Mr. Brad Silver, conducts a recognition event where they honor those individuals who have shown support, respect, and have developed a relationship with the Jewish Community not only here in Bronx County but throughout the City and State of New York.

It is important for you to know that I am one of those chosen this year to receive the Public Service Award by the Bronx Jewish Community Council. As a Black Puerto Rican and a Christian Minister, I am more than honored to be recognized for my support to the people of Israel. In these modern times when others discriminate, harass and even some elected officials make comments and show disrespect against the Jewish Community, I am honored to be recognized amongst those that stand by and support the people of Israel.

I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to Rabbi Greenberg, Brad Silver, and all the members of the Board of Directors of the Bronx Jewish Community Council Committee.

I am Councilmember Rev. Rubén Díaz, Sr. and this is what you should know.
