Bronx residents will now have more resources when it comes to finding health care services thanks to the unveiling of “The Bronx Health Guide.”
Two council members, Pfizer and national nursing organizations partnered up to design the free booklet. Bronx is the first borough in New York City to have this type of guide, which aims to make health care more easily accessible to people who are either uninsured or under-insured.
Health care providers like Ivette Walker, of Morris Heights Health Center, says the guide is a great concept and a step forward to get residents aware of all the resources available. Walker would like the literacy to be toned down, however, so people can understand more of the content.
The guides will be available at health centers in the coming weeks.
