A couple days ago I was lucky enough to stumble across this book,
The Beautiful Bronx (1920-1950) by Lloyd Ultan. I have always felt as though it was important to know the history of your surroundings. This book shows life in Bronx from 1920-1950 through text and pictures. It is amazing to see some of the common places looking the same so many decades later and other places looking completely different.
The book starts off with some interesting chapters depicting life in Bronx during those decades and ends with a 70+ page photo album. I encourage everyone to go back in time and read up on your habitat. History is inevitable and it is always good to know your surroundings.
