Earlier today, Monday, November 25, 2019, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., FreshDirect and City Harvest teamed up to distribute turkeys, 500 Thanksgiving boxes that included sides such as stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, acorn squash, sweet potatoes and more; and water to hundreds of residents of NYCHA’s Mill Brook, Mitchel and Paterson Houses, as well as local community residents.
Those taking part in the food giveaway included David McInerney, FreshDirect CEO; Jennifer McLean, City Harvest COO; Ricky “Slick Rick” Waters; Angelica Vila, R&B artist and Assembly Members Michael Blake and Karines Reyes.
The food distribution event took place at the Mott Haven Bar & Grill.
