Staff Sgt. Abraham Rodriguez, a squad leader with A Company, 407^th Brigade Support Battalion, 2^nd Brigade of the 82^nd Airborne Division, is awarded the Combat Action Badge.

The distinction was awarded by brigade commander, Col. Tim McAteer, at Al-Asad Air Base, Iraq, at a ceremony on September 30, 2011.

Rodriguez earned the Combat Action Badge for his actions during a roadside bomb attack on his armored vehicle while on a unit resupply mission.

Rodriguez is a native of Bronx.
