Our school, The Edward R. Byrne (MS 101), participated in a fundraiser to raise money for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital by completing a Math-a-thon. About fourteen students asked friends/family/and buisnesses in the Throgsneck area, to donate money for each math problem they got correct or to give a flat donation.
Our goal was to raise $3,000 to help children with cancer receive treatment. We raised $2,611.25 in October/November 2010. Kathleen Augello, a six grader, raised over $1,300. To celebrate their efforts, a pizza party will take place November 23, 1020 at 11:45 am in MS 101.
