Shawn Lewis, 25, Sought For Homicide

On Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at approximately 1749 hours, police responded to a call of a male shot, located at East 169 Street and Clay Avenue within the confines of the 44 Precinct in Bronx.

Shawn Lewis, 25, Sought For Homicide

Upon arrival, officers observed a 24 year-old male lying unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wounds to his head and leg, in the vicinity of the location.  EMS responded and transported the victim to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased has been identified as:

Charles Powell, 24
1228 Clay Avenue, Apt. 2A
Bronx, NY 10456

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the following identified individual in connection to the below described homicide.

The individual is identified as:

Shawn Lewis, 25

Shawn Lewis is a male black, 5’6″ tall, weighing 145 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair.

Photos of Shawn Lewis, including an arrest photo from an August 11, 2011 arrest for Burglary, are attached and available at DCPI.
