The free two-week performing-arts festival runs from July 5 through July 17 featuring nightly concerts in Crotona Park and St. Mary’s Park. July 11 is the only day where there will not be a performance.

Fat Joe, known for his No. 1 hit “Lean Back” in 2004, will perform with DJ Tony Touch on July 6 at 7 p.m. in Crotona Park.

Freestyle artist George Lamond will kick off the series with a performance on July 5 at 7 p.m. in Crotona Park. The series will end on July 17 in St. Mary’s Park with performances starting at 4 p.m. by Caribbean band Legacy Women, kids music group Recess Monkey, Renaissance Youth Center band Music with a Message, and jump-roping group Double Dutch Dreamz.

Other highlights of the series include a July 10 show from hip-hop pioneer DJ Kool Herc at 7 p.m. in Crotona Park, a July 13 show from Latin soul musician Joe Bataan at 7 p.m. in St. Mary’s Park and a tribute to Latin jazz great Dave Valentin on July 7 at 7 p.m. in Crotona Park.

The series will also include, dance, theater and circus performances.

“At City Parks Foundation, we believe culture should be convenient and affordable for everyone,” City Parks Foundation Executive Director Heather Luboy said in a statement. “Our SummerStage festival removes the barriers to culture, bringing world-class artists, topical and popular, to neighborhood parks across all five boroughs, free of charge.”
