With Thanksgiving just over a week away, the Salvation Army is calling on Bronx residents to donate turkeys to families in need.

Organizers say so many families in the neighborhood rely on the Salvation Army for food and resources. They say this need can become even greater during the holiday season.

So far, the Salvation Army has received over 200 turkeys.

The organization is also accepting other canned goods and coats to help keep residents warm and well fed this holiday season.

To coordinate donation, please call 7185629023 or 7183255810.
