Inflation may be hurting many Americans at the pump and in stores, but it’s nothing compared to the soaring need for food here in the South Bronx.

How can you help? See below for details…

With skyrocketing prices and supply shortages, The HopeLine is among many organizations struggling to provide the items that once nourished a family. Inflation is hitting the wallets and bank accounts of those most in need, and many New Yorkers are turning to local pantries like ours to offset costs and fill the void.

Our vendors and partners who regularly donate are reporting a 50% decrease in donations themselves. Many items, like baby formula and pasta, are depleted or out of stock.

Since June, The HopeLine has seen a decrease in:

  • Canned vegetables (down 50%)
  • Juice (down 65%)
  • Grains like rice and pasta (down 25%)
  • Cereals (down 65%)
  • Frozen meats (down 50%)

One of our most important goals is to provide to our community with quality food bags, and your help today can make all the difference.

There are three ways to help fill the shelves at The HopeLine.

1. Make a Donation

Give online now here and your contributions will help us continue to ensure the most healthy food bags go to our clients.

2. Bring in Non-Perishables

Send in bulk non-perishable items—canned goods like beans veggies, pastas, rice, healthy juices, shelf stable milk, and cans of tuna fish.
We are here Monday thru Thursday 09:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m. for drop off and deliveries to 884 E. 163rd Street, Bronx, NY 10459. Questions? E-mail frontdesk@thehopeline.org.

3. Spread the Word

Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about the need for food at The HopeLine. Help us find more friends to fill the shelves!
