Project Enterprise, which supports and develops small businesses in under-resourced communities in New York City, proudly announces that special financial support is available for Bronx entrepreneurs. Funding for this exciting initiative has been provided through the generosity of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOEDC).
“Some Bronx entrepreneurs have had an especially hard time recovering from the economic crisis,” said Catherine Barnett, executive director of Project Enterprise, “so we are very grateful to the BOEDC for helping us to help them.”
PE is working with two partners, the Bronx Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Lehman College and the Hunts Point Women’s Business Center, to hold a special Fast Track seminar for emerging Bronx businesses on Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23. Entrepreneurs who complete the program will be eligible for initial loans of $3,000.
During the intensive training seminar, potential members will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 144 West 125th Street on the fourth floor, headquarters of Project Enterprise. Eligible participants must have been in business for at least a year and have generated revenues of $5,000 in that time. But PE does not require them to have the credit score and collateral that banks need for commercial loans.
Project Enterprise also lends money to start-up and more established entrepreneurs through its Peer Classic and Direct programs respectively.
By providing loans to small-business entrepreneurs, business development services and networking opportunities, Project Enterprise (PE) helps entrepreneurs become economically self-sufficient, increase their standard of living and create jobs for their communities.
