Pepatian is a local non-profit arts organization established in the South Bronx in 1983.

On Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 4:30 p.m., PEPATIAN presents two choreographers: Jessie Flores and Sita Frederickin a FREE informal dance presentation at Pregones Theater.

Interactive lecture/demonstrations ith professional choreographers:

Sita Frederick:

Will present an excerpt from trio work: “Sirenas” and discuss its traditional sources from Yoruba based Afro-Cuban Orisha Yemaya and the Dahomey rooted Haitian dance Yanvalu and how she’s merged this material with contemporary dance vocabulary.

Jessie Flores:

Will present excerpts from her new dance work: “Waiting” and discuss her artistic process and fusion movement work (contact-improvisation, modern, salsa, west African, hip-hop, house…)

Students will get a sneak peek at new dance work and can talk with the artists about their artistic work and creative process.
