Pedestrian Rafael Berrios, 81, Succumbs To His Injuries

On January 14, 2021, at 1510 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck at Boston Road and Allerton Avenue in the confines of the 49th Precinct in the Bronx.

Preliminary investigation determined that vehicle #1 a 2013 Toyota Highlander was traveling northbound on Boston Road when the driver struck an 81-year-old old male, who was crossing Boston Road from west to east.

The pedestrian was taken to Jacobi in stable condition. The victim was then transferred to Calvary Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on February 05, 2021.

The driver of the auto remained on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
