On Saturday, October 03, 2020, at approximately 2112 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision, involving a pedestrian, struck at the intersection of University Avenue and West Burnside Avenue, within the confines of the 46th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 61-year-old male pedestrian, lying on the roadway, with head and body trauma.
EMS responded to the location and transported the aided male to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Further investigation revealed the pedestrian was attempting to cross University Avenue at the intersection of West Burnside Avenue, in the north crosswalk, from the west side of the street to the east side of the street, against the pedestrian signal.
At the same time, vehicle #1, a 2007 Suzuki GSXR-600 motorcycle, operated by an unknown individual, was traveling south bound on University Avenue, approaching West Burnside Avenue.
As a result, vehicle #1 struck the pedestrian inside the north crosswalk, knocking the pedestrian to the pavement, before the motorcyclist flees the scene, prior to arrival of police.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
