Access to good medical care helps people prevent illnesses, identify health conditions early, and treat health problems; however, nearly 26% of Bronx residents do not have access to a regular doctor or health care provider.
Nearly 2,000 people per 100,000 people in the Bronx are living with HIV/ AIDS and 1 in 5 Bronx residents smoke. On Friday June 26th, 2009 the Osborne Association is hosting its annual Bronx Health Fair to address some of the health related issues within the Bronx community. A large number of community members attend annually.
The Health Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Osborne Association’s Bronx site located at 809 Westchester Avenue, and is geared towards helping participants adopt healthy lifestyles.
