A Bronx teen was arrested for stealing a car while his friend crashed a second stolen car near the Fairfield Metro station and escaped, possibly boarding a passing train early Tuesday, police said.

A sergeant patrolling Kings Highway shortly after 3 a.m. noticed a young man urinating next to a car parked at the Cumberland Farms, police said.

When questioned, the teen seemed fidgety and nervous, so the officer checked on the car, a 2009 Infinity, which had been reported stolen out of Greenwich, police said.

At the same time, a second car sped out of the parking lot with its headlights out. That car ended up on Commerce Drive, where it hit a wall outside Stone Ridge Condominiums and upended, police said.

That car, a 2000 Honda Accord, had been reported stolen out of West Haven, police said.

A security guard at nearby Bigelow Tea heard the crash and noticed a male running towards the train tracks, police said.

Fairfield K-9 Maverick and a second K-9 from Monroe tracked the suspect to the train tracks, where it’s believed he jumped on a train that had just pulled into the station, police said.

The first juvenile, a 16-year-old from Bronx, NY, was charged with second-degree larceny and was let go with a promise to appear in Bridgeport juvenile court on March 3, 2017, police said. An attempt to release him to a guardian failed, police said.

Police investigating found the two males had entered the Cumberland Farms together to pay for gas for one of the stolen cars.
