The Local NeighborhoodStat (Local NStat) annual series of participatory budgeting and neighborhood safety planning continues in Mott Haven, Bronx. Residents in the Patterson Houses will participate in the thirteenth of fifteen voting processes in NYCHA developments across the city to discuss local solutions for safety and well-being.

Organized by the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP), Local NStat partners residents with government agencies and design teams to develop and implement actions to tackle local priorities. The series showcases a proven community-led safety and resiliency planning model.

This season, Local NStat will allocate $30,000 for each MAP community to address economic stability, public safety, and more. MAP communities will vote on a range of local, high-priority projects through the Fall.

About the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety

The Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP) is a comprehensive neighborhood-based strategy to increase safety through coordinated crime reduction efforts at 15 NYCHA developments across New York City. Housed in the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice under the Office of Neighborhood Safety, MAP utilizes NeighborhoodStat, its operational centerpiece, to enlist residents, City agencies, and community-based partners to address factors that underlie safety.
