Nathaniel Avinger, 50, Arrested For The Murder Of Garrett Goble, 36

On Friday, March 27, 2020, at approximately 0314 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a fire in transit inside the W. 110th Street and Lenox Avenue subway station (1/2/3 line), within the confines of the 24th Precinct / Transit District #3 in Manhattan.

Upon arrival and extinguishment of the fire by FDNY personnel, officers observed three adult males and one adult female suffering from smoke inhalation.

EMS responded to the location and transported the aided individuals to Mt. Sinai Hospital and Mt. Sinai Saint Luke’s Hospital, respectively, in stable condition.

Additionally, a 36-year-old male was discovered on the roadbed, and removed, via EMS, to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation the following 50-year-old male individual was arrested on Friday December 18, 2020, at 0055 hours.

Charges:

The investigation remains ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
