Murielle Gousse, 44, Deceased In A Hit-And-Run Accident

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, at approximately 2042 hours, police responded to a 911 call of two pedestrians, struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Fordham Road and Morris Avenue within the confines of the 46th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, police observed a 44-year-old female and a 53-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma throughout the body.

EMS also responded and transported both aided to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the 44-year-old female was pronounced deceased, and the 53-year-old female was listed in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation determined that an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on E. Fordham Road when the operator failed to properly navigate the roadway and struck the 44-year-old female. The unknown vehicle also collided with metal items that were on the sidewalk, causing the metal items to strike the 53-year-old female.

The vehicle did not remain on the scene.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
