Monsignor Scanlan High School Damaged In Fire

A fast-moving fire inside Monsignor Scanlan High School in the Bronx reached 3-alarms on Friday evening before it was controlled by firefighters, according to authorities.

Monsignor Scanlan High School Damaged In Fire

The fire started after 6:00 p.m. at the high school, located in the Throgs Neck section, inside a boiler room in one of its buildings before spreading to a chapel, according to the FDNY. The blaze extended through the walls to the top floor and roof until firefighters put out the fire at 8:00 p.m.

The fire caused no fatalities or injuries but did heavily damage one of the buildings.

Monsignor Scanlan High School has a 13-acre campus in the Bronx and is a Catholic, co-educational institution with nearly 400 students.
