Dear NYPD Community Partners,

I am writing to ask for your help in a collaborative effort to further combat the CoViD-19 pandemic. The NYPD has been tasked with ensuring that the people of our City follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s guidelines, along with Federal, State, and local mandates, regarding social behavior during this public health crisis.

We are hopeful that our partners in the community spread, far and wide, a singular message – now is not the time to relax. It is a shared responsibility of all members of our great City to do our part to continue to flatten the curve and safely get to the other side of this crisis. Our public health leaders have made very clear our path forward – practice social distancing, wear a face covering, and stay at home as much as possible. Our police officers will be out there, as they always have been, to make sure that the people of this City are safe – and in this case that means spreading this important public health message.

Please help us, in a show of solidarity, by encouraging the members of your community to adhere to the CDC’s guidelines. Together, we will save lives. #TheEyesOfTheWorldAreOnUs

Police Commissioner
