Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn donated blood to the New York Blood Center as part of an Office of the Mayor/City Council Blood Drive.
Mayor Bloomberg and Council Speaker Quinn urged New Yorkers to attend New York Blood Center blood drives and donor centers to donate blood to help maintain the blood supply. Last week’s storm virtually shut down collections at many New York Blood Center locations and prevented some 1,500 donations from being made.
The event was held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the Blue Room at City Hall.
For more information on how to donate blood, please contact Keith Hudson, New York Blood Center, 212-570-3327 or khudson@nybloodcenter.org.
