Mass Transit In The New York Region

New York City Buses: Bus service is free and will operate as close to a normal weekday schedule as possible on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said. As of 7:30 a.m., every bus line on the M.T.A.’s Web site was showing as either “delayed” or “service changes.” For mor einformation, please go here.

Taxis and Livery Cars: Taxis are allowed to pick up multiple passengers at multiple points. Livery cars can be hailed in the street.

Airports: Newark Liberty International Airport opened at 7 a.m. and Kennedy International Airport was expected to be operating at noon. Travelers are advised to check with their airlines before heading to the airport, as many were still operating on a limited basis. Long Island Rail Road: All lines remain suspended.

Metro-North Railroad: All lines remain suspended.

New Jersey Transit trains: All lines remain suspended.

Long Island Buses: Nassau County’s Nice Bus system is operating with limited service on a Sunday schedule with the following lines running: N1, N4, N6, N20 Flushing to Roslyn only, N22, N24, N35, N40/41, N43, N49, and N71/72. Suffolk County Transit buses remained suspended early Wednesday morning.

Westchester Buses: Bee-Line and Paratransit buses resumed service at 5 a.m., with expected detours on the following routes: 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 20X, 21, 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 45, 45Q, 53, 54, 55, 60, 61, 63, 63C, 64, 65, 66, 70, 71,77, Shuttle Loop H. Connecticut Buses: Regular local and express bus service resumes on all routes in Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, New Britain, Waterbury, Wallingford, Meriden and Bristol. For mor einformation, please go here.

Amtrak: Trains were still not operating into or out of New York City. There was no service between Newark and Boston or Acela Express service along the northeast corridor on Wednesday.
