Martinson Afari-Yeboah, 28, Arrested For The Murder Of Fredrick Afoakwah, 22

On Sunday, April 21, 2019 at approximately 0527 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside 40 West Moshoulu Parkway, Apt. 17F within the confines of the 52 Precinct in Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 22-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the neck. Preliminary investigation revealed a 28-year-old male placed a loaded 9 mm firearm on a table and the victim began to touch the firearm. Upon picking up the weapon, it discharged one round sticking the victim’s neck.

EMS responded and removed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Bronx, NY 10468

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 28-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 1000 hours within the confines of the 44 Precinct in Bronx.

Arrested:

Martinson Afari-Yeboah

Charges:

  • manslaughter;
  • criminally negligent homicide.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
