Police on Thursday were on the hunt for a suspect who punched a woman in the face and stole her wallet at a MetroCard machine in a Bronx subway station.

Around 7:55 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014, the 22-year-old woman was trying to buy a MetroCard at the West Farms Square-East Tremont Avenue No. 2 train station, an elevated subway station in the West Farms section of Bronx.

The man walked up to her, punched her in the face, and pulled her wallet from her purse before leaving the station and running off, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30, standing between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and red pants.
