In the thick of January’s bitter cold, franchised new car dealers in the New York metro area have hit an impressive milestone: 50,000 winter coats delivered to those in need.
On Thursday, January 17, at 11:00 a.m., the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) will deliver more than 8,000 coats its members donated and collected this winter, bringing its total to 50,000. The event will take place at Volvo Cars Manhattan, located at 565 11th Avenue in Manhattan between 42nd & 43rd Street.
Over the last 30 years, New York Cares has donated over 2 million winter coats for families who would otherwise face a long cold winter without them.
The top multi-location coat collecting-partner for the last seven years has been the franchised new car dealers that make up the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA), which this year collected over 8,000 coats to bring their all-time 7-year total to over 50,000.
At the event will be present Mark Schienberg, President of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association; David DeLuca, Chief Program Officer of New York Cares; Brian Miller, Owner of Volvo Cars Manhattan; Rubén Díaz Jr., Bronx Borough President.
