Kether Werts, 17, Murdered

On Thursday, September 10, 2020, at approximately 1642 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 1705 Hoe Avenue, within the confines of the 42nd Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 17-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the head and foot.

EMS responded and transported the male aided to SBH Health System – St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Pursuant to the ongoing investigation the New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the two unidentified males, who are seen in the attached surveillance video clips and are sought in connection with the homicide described above.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

The first clip shows Unidentified Male #1 and Unidentified Male #2 arriving together at the incident location.

The second clip shows Unidentified Male #1 fleeing the incident location.

The third clip shows Unidentified Male #2 shooting the victim.

The last clip shows Unidentified Male #1 walking in front of 1536 Southern Boulevard shortly after the incident.

A surveillance video clip of the suspect is attached and available at DCPI.
