Joseph Foster, 18, Arrested On Multiple Charges

Pursuant to an ongoing New York City Police Department investigation, the following three (3) individuals, 19, 18 and 16 years of age respectively, have been arrested and charged on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 2250 hours and on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 0005 hours, in connection to a series of assaults and robberies, that occurred within the confines of the 5th, 9th and 13th Precincts / Transit Districts 2 and 4 in Manhattan.

Charges:

  • robbery (2 counts);
  • criminal possession of a weapon (2 counts).

Joseph Foster
1670 Seward Avenue
Bronx, NY 10473

Charges:

  • robbery;
  • criminal possession of a weapon.

A 16-year-old male.

Charges:

  • assault;
  • robbery (2 counts);
  • criminal possession of a weapon (2 counts).

Details are as follows.

Incident #1 (13th Precinct): It was reported to police that on Friday, May 14, 2021, at approximately 0426 hours, inside of a southbound 4 train at the Union Square subway station, three (3) individuals approached the 44-year-old male victim and one of them slashed him on the left side of his face with an unknown sharp object. The victim fled off the train and the individuals remained. EMS transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals / Bellevue in stable condition.

Incident #2 (9th Precinct): It was reported to police that on Friday, May 14, 2021, at approximately 0434 hours, inside of a southbound 4 train at the Astor Street subway station, the three (3) individuals approached the two victims, a 40-year-old male and a 41-year-old male, and punched them repeatedly. During the assault one of the individuals slashed the 40-year-old male on the nose. The victims got off at the station and the individuals remained. EMS transported the victims to NYC Health and Hospitals / Bellevue in stable condition.

Incident #3 (5th Precinct): It was reported to police that on Friday, May 14, 2021, at approximately 0437 hours, inside of a southbound 4 train at the Union Square Subway Station, the three (3) individuals assaulted the 44-year-old male victim. During the attack, one of the individuals slashed the victim on the left side of his face with an unknown sharp object. In addition, the individuals took the victims money and cell phone. One of the individuals threw the victim’s cell phone onto the train tracks. The victim fled off the train at the station and the individuals remained. EMS transported the victim to New York Downtown Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
