While strolling through midtown Manhattan and engaging in political discussions, it becomes apparent that Jonathan Rinaldi is deeply knowledgeable about political affairs. However, whether one agrees with his perspectives largely depends on individual political inclinations. Conservatism and its associated ideologies prominently feature in his professional and political agendas.

Rinaldi, hailing from Queens, is vying for the New York Congress 14 seat, which covers parts of the Bronx and Queens. Seizing the chance to converse over a meal at a local deli, I took the opportunity to ask a few questions regarding his congressional campaign. During our brief encounter, his bearing, speech patterns, and overall demeanor projected a readiness for political office. But the question remains: is it sufficient to challenge Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

1. Can you share something about yourself that has not been covered in the media?

“My family’s escape from Eastern Europe during the Nazi era instilled in me a profound appreciation for understanding history. Having personally faced discrimination while growing up, I now, as a parent of interracial children, emphasize that discrimination is not solely based on race or culture.”

2. What motivated your decision to run for office?

“As a long-standing activist against government overreach, I have consistently stood as a solitary voice challenging the majority.”

3. What are your top three campaign focuses.

  • Addressing immigration, including combating human trafficking and prostitution.
  • Securing social services and public housing for veterans, the homeless, and our citizens.
  • Addressing over taxation stemming from wasteful spending, including NYC congestion pricing.

4. Could you describe your current advocacy efforts?

“My advocacy endeavors involve holding elected officials accountable to ensure they are not unduly influenced by nonprofits and lobbyists. I endeavor to expose misinformation during press conferences, advocate for conservative principles, and leverage First Amendment audits and FOIL requests to unveil voting records and policies.”

5. Is there anything else you wish to communicate to the public?

“Running a grassroots campaign, I staunchly refuse funding that compromises my principles. I prioritize truth, patriotic values, and the core principles of America. My mission is to uphold these principles, emphasizing the critical importance of truth in public service.”
